Payments to HobbyLink Japan will soon be processed by GoInterpay, a secure and trusted gateway provider and payment processor. Paying through GoInterpay will allow you to pay and see prices in your local currency, and you will now have the option to pay directly by credit card, or through a PayPal Billing Agreement. With our experience using GoInterpay in various countries, we also believe it will provide more competitive exchange rates for all of our customers.

Q: How do I update my payment method?
A: You can update your payment method when placing your next order with us, or by logging into your HLJ account and clicking “Payment Method” - the new payment method screen will look like this:
If you select “Add/Change Credit Card”, you will need to enter your credit card details before clicking the orange “Continue” button. If you select “PayPal Billing Agreement”, click “Continue” and you will be redirected to PayPal to enter your PayPal information.
Q: I want to be charged in a different currency. Can I change it?
A: If you want to change the currency you will be charged in, click “Change Currency”, and select the currency you prefer.
The available payment methods for that currency will then be shown. Select your preferred payment method, enter your details as needed, and click “Continue” to update the currency you will be charged in.
Q: If I choose PayPal, won’t you be sending PayPal payment links any more?
A: In this day and age, e-mailing a payment link is a security risk. To increase security for our customers when placing orders and making payments, selecting PayPal now creates a billing agreement, and we’ll charge your payment method on file for your HLJ account at the time your ordered item(s) become available. Our usual cancellation policies apply.
Q: When I place an order, my payment source is being verified. Are you making me pay in advance for a preorder or backordered item?
A: Not at all! The verification is just a small step to ensure your details have been entered correctly. Please rest assured that we **do not** charge for an item at any time before that item is in our warehouse and ready to be shipped to you.
Q: When you verify my payment source, does my payment source already need to have enough money for the order?
A: No, you do not need to have the complete amount available for your order at that time. You'll only need that amount available when your ordered item is in our warehouse and ready to be shipped to you.
Q: What about orders I made before?
A: Our new payment system keeps one payment method and currency on file for all of your orders, including previously placed preorders or backorders. You’re welcome to change the payment method and currency on file for your HLJ account at any time, and the change will also apply to any unpaid orders you already have with us.
Q: The payment I made for my HLJ order says “GoInterpay” instead of HobbyLink Japan on my credit card statement or PayPal statement. Did HLJ get my payment?
A: We received your payment fine! GoInterpay is simply our payment processor.
Q: If I pay in my local currency, will the value of my order be declared in my local currency? I don’t want that to happen!
A: No worries! The value of all packages will continue to be declared in Japanese yen.
