Holiday Shipping and Customer Service Information 2023

It’s that time of the year again! The Post Office and other couriers will be off for a few days for the New Year’s holidays in Japan. HLJ will be working over the holiday to prepare your items so they can out ASAP after the break, but please note that packages will not leave our warehouse until the Post Office and couriers resume operations after their holiday period. Check below to see when your package will ship out. All dates below are in JST.

Shipping Schedule:

  • Japan Post (EMS, Air Small Packet, Air Parcel, Surface Mail):
    • December 27th ~ December 30th: Shipping as usual*
    • December 31st, January 1st and January 3rd: No shipping, however we will have staff present to prepare shipments for when shipping does resume, and will notify you once your package has been prepared.
    • January 2nd and from January 4th: Shipping as usual and we will be catching up on shipments throughout that week in the order in which they were placed.
  • FedEx and HLJ Small Pack (ECMS):
    • December 29th to January 4th: No shipping, however we will have staff present to prepare shipments for when shipping does resume, and will notify you once your package has been prepared.
    • January 4th: Shipping as usual and we will be catching up on shipments throughout that week in the order in which they were placed.
  • DHL:
    • December 28th ~ December 29th: Shipping as usual
    • December 30th to January 4th: No shipping, however we will have staff present to prepare shipments for when shipping does resume, and will notify you once your package has been prepared.
    • January 4th: Shipping as usual and we will be catching up on shipments throughout that week in the order in which they were placed.
  • HLJ Quick Pack (Yamato):
    • December 28th ~ December 31st: Shipping as usual*
    • January 1st and January 3rd: No shipping, however we will have staff present to prepare shipments for when shipping does resume, and will notify you once your package has been prepared.
    • January 2nd and from January 4th: Shipping as usual and we will be catching up on shipments throughout that week in the order in which they were placed.

Shipping Notes:

  • You will still be able to create shipments during the brief period when couriers are not in service, and we will prepare them for pickup. Once shipping operations resume, we will push to get everything out as soon as possible.
  • In Stock 3-5 Days products will likely take longer than usual to come into stock to fill your order.

Customer Support Schedule:

  • December 30th ~ January 4th: Limited Customer Support
  • January 5th: Customer Support available as usual 

Customer Support Notes:

  • You are welcome to contact us anytime during the holidays, but please understand that support will be limited and we will need more time than usual to get back to you.
  • There are helpful articles in our Help Center that should cover most issues, so we invite you to take a look if you have any issues.

* Staff during the holidays may be limited. Please understand that processing during these dates may take more time than usual.
