Unfortunately, this is one of the most frustrating things about working in the Japanese hobby industry. Most of the time, manufacturers simply do not provide us with restocking dates for their backordered items. These items have not been discontinued, and all information from the manufacturer indicates we'll be able to receive more stock in the future - we just don't know when.
In cases where we do know when an item will be restocked, its stock status will be changed to (Month) Restock. However if an items' stock status shows "Backordered", we unfortunately haven't been provided with a restocking date from the manufacturer. As a result, we can't provide you with information on its restocking date, or predict if it will come back in stock by a certain date.
However, here are a few guidelines to help give you a rough idea:
- If you're waiting for a newly-released, standard plastic kit, we will probably have more within a month or two.
- If you're waiting on a kit that was originally released more than a year ago, you may need to wait several months or longer before it comes into stock.
- If you're waiting on a garage kit (resin or soft-vinyl item), we don't have any idea at all, but if the kit is a character-related item that was released more than 18 months ago, you may want to look elsewhere for the item.
