Standard International Registered Shipping (Registered SAL)

Follow

The Standard Int'l Registered Shipping rate shown is the cost to ship the item via standard shipping methods (SAL Small Packet class if available to your country, or Airmail Small Packet class if your country cannot receive SAL class), but with your package having been registered with the postal service at a cost of 410 yen. The package is insured for up to 6,000 yen without any additional cost.

The registration number has limited tracking capability. Real-time tracking is not provided, and up to 3 weeks may be required for the tracking record to become available.

Any item or combination of items over over 2 kilograms in weight, over 90cm in the combined height x length x width measurement, or over 15,000 yen in value will be shipped by a trackable method, even if you request Standard International shipping (SAL). Please understand that Standard International Registered Shipping is not considered a trackable method.

While this may cost slightly more, the better handling and trackability is justified when shipping very valuable orders. In general, there will not even be a choice shown for Standard International Shipping during checkout or in the Private Warehouse if any one of the three limits mentioned above are exceeded.

Tracking is available for these destinations only: Belgium, China, Croatia, Estonia, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and, currently in a trial period, Argentina, Egypt, United Kingdom (UK), and United States of America (USA).

These countries ARE able to receive Standard International Registered shipments: Algeria, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, Estonia, France, Georgia, Gibraltar, Greece, Guam, Hong Kong, Kuril Islands, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mexico, Micronesia, Midway Islands, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, Palau, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates (UAE), UK, USA, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Virgin Islands, and Wake Island.

Countries NOT able to receive Standard International Registered shipments are Australia, Balearic Islands, Ceuta, Chafarinas Islands, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greenland, Hungary, Jadu, Kosovo, Melilla, Moldova, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Saipan, and Serbia.

Hello Arnold! That's correct -- tracking for Registered SAL class mail is only available in certain countries, but even though tracking is not offered in Mexico, your package will still be registered with the post office. So in the event that your package is delayed, being held up in Customs, or any similar situation, you can contact your local post office and provide them with your SAL Registration number and they can help you track its location in their system.

    Hi Roan,

Registered SAL and EMS are the most secure shipping methods for your country. Registered SAL packages will have a registration number, so if your package is delayed or lost, it will be easier to track down!

EMS packages have a tracking number and include the perks of Registered SAL, plus tracking updates via the post office's website and faster shipping time!

Both of these methods also include limited insurance in case anything happens to your package -- more information about that is here:

    Hello,

I am planning to order and ship it to Dubai, UAE. If I choose Registered SAL or EMS, will it be delivered to my address or do I have to pick it up from the post office?

    Thank you!

    Hello, Jofel,

We'll always ship to the address provided in your HLJ.com account. Your local post office or courier will decide whether to deliver directly to your door, or whether you'll need to drop by and pick up your package. This varies from area to area, but if you contact your local post office about the delivery of international packages, they should be able to give you more specific information.
