Private Warehouse gives you the best chance of shipping your orders together, even if they’re released at different times. Items will appear in your Private Warehouse as they’re paid for, and can be combined for shipping as you like for up to 60 days.
How It Works
When you select Private Warehouse during checkout, all in-stock items will be allocated to you and charged when your order enters payment processing. Instead of shipping immediately, though, the paid items will become visible in your virtual Private Warehouse, where you can later combine them with other items and have them shipped as you wish.
These items are yours, and we'll store them here in the HLJ warehouse for you for up to 60 days after their allocation.
In your Private Warehouse you can combine or split orders, change shipping methods, decide exactly when to ship, and control all aspects of having the items shipped to you. This is great for customers concerned about keeping per-shipment costs down for customs reasons, consolidating orders for more efficient shipping, or for anybody who wants to be in complete control of what gets shipped, when, and how.
The Private Warehouse is virtual, not physical. We ensure that we always have stock to fill your order, but we do not hold a specific piece in any special location. Your order will be filled with the stock we have on hand -- which is reserved for you when your order enters payment processing -- at the time you request shipping.
Payment for Private Warehouse Orders
When your order enters payment processing, only the cost of in-stock merchandise will be billed. For preorders, backordered items, and restock items, only the cost of the merchandise will be billed when the item becomes available.
Shipping fees will not be charged until a Private Warehouse shipment is created.
A paid item can stay in your Private Warehouse for up to 60 days after its allocation. The 60-day period begins when the item has first been billed. You're welcome to combine it for shipping with other paid items that enter your Private Warehouse during that time.
If the Private Warehouse's 60-day clock runs out, shipment of paid items in Private Warehouse for longer than 60 days is an automated process. Any paid items in Private Warehouse for longer than 60 days will be automatically grouped together to be sent by our choice of shipping method, you will be charged for the shipping, and the items will be shipped. Additions or changes cannot be made to automated shipments of paid items that were in Private Warehouse for more than 60 days.
The 60-day Private Warehouse time limit cannot be extended under any circumstances. Please be sure to carefully plan your shipments before the time limit expires.
We send weekly status updates about the items in your Private Warehouse, as well as a warning when items are nearing the 60-day limit.
If an automatic shipment is not paid, the order will be cancelled, the items will be returned to stock, and you will be given store credit of 85% of the price you paid for the items.
Shipping From Private Warehouse
Take the following steps to ship items from your Private Warehouse:
- Sign in to your HLJ account.
- On the next page, click on the orange "Go to Private Warehouse" button.
- On the next page, as the directions say, "to add something to a new shipment, click the plus sign to the right of any of the products shown in your Private Warehouse, or choose 'Add Everything.'"
- Select the shipping method in the box below the box showing the item selected. Once you have done that, click on "Review Order," and then be sure to follow all other instructions the site gives you.
- Once complete, you will be billed immediately for the shipment, and after payment, we will prepare your shipment.
Shipping methods and payment methods can be chosen individually per shipping order.
Please carefully check your shipping arrangements before submitting a shipping request. Once paid, shipping requests cannot be altered or cancelled.
If you make a mistake in creating a Private Warehouse shipment, we can manually cancel the shipment for you only if the shipment is not paid before customer support can assist you, and only if all items in the order were held for 53 days or less.
A Private Warehouse shipment cannot be altered if any of its contents were in Private Warehouse longer than 53 days, or if it is an automated shipment of items in Private Warehouse longer than 60 days. In these cases, the shipment can either be shipped, or cancelled and its contents returned to stock for store credit of 85% of the item amount.
