Regarding CPSC Regulations and Temporary Suspension of DHL Shipping

Follow

Dear Valued Customers,

Thank you for your continued support of HobbyLink Japan.

We’ve recently received a lot of questions and comments from customers about the upcoming changes to regulations from CPSC (Consume Product Safety Commission) in the United States regarding new CPSC eFiling requirements for regulated consumer products on certain types of products coming into effect from July 8th.

At this time, we do not expect these changes to affect all of the products currently being sold at HobbyLink Japan. Based on the information currently available, many of our most popular products such as model kits, action figures and statues are generally understood as being aimed at adult collectors, and therefore fall under categories that are not inherently affected by these regulatory changes.

However, a small number of products within specific categories and genres may require additional documentation for compliance, and may be subject to further processes at US customs from July 8th, 2026.

As a result, our logistics team is currently preparing to make necessary adjustments to our process to ensure a smooth transition. At this current time, we are considering taking temporary measures to ensure no customer has their shipments halted at customs.

Therefore, in the instance where a product in your shipment becomes affected, some shipments to the US may be placed on hold until a further procedure for providing the correct CPSC documentation has been established.

We are currently working to provide the best possible solution for getting shipments to the US with no interruptions, so we will provide further information when a new system is implemented.

As an additional precaution, we have temporarily suspended DHL shipping for orders to the United States until we can confirm compliance with the new requirements.

We recently learned that some customers may incur an additional fee for products that fail to meet new standards when shipped via DHL, and so this method has also been temporarily suspended until we can guarantee that the customer will not be affected.

Please understand that the HobbyLink Japan customer service team is not currently able to determine whether specific items or orders will require additional documentation or be affected by this regulatory change, so we ask for you patience and understanding as we work towards resolving the issue.

Kind regards,

HobbyLink Japan Team
